The Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina marked its 30th anniversary with a conference in Sarajevo focused on the role of the banking regulator in a changing financial order. The event brought together domestic and international participants from the financial sector to discuss future directions for regulation and supervision amid global change and rapid digitalisation. In opening remarks, the agency’s director, Jasmin Mahmuzić, said the agency’s core mission remains preserving system stability, protecting depositors and strengthening confidence in the banking sector. The agency described its role over the past three decades as central to building a stable, well-capitalised and regulated banking system aligned with international standards. Conference presentations and panel discussions covered the role of central banks and regulators in safeguarding stability, as well as the future of banking in the context of market transformation, macroeconomic policy, technological change, climate issues and other challenges.
