The National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine published a 10-point overview of its investor protection framework, covering market entry controls, ongoing supervision, disclosure requirements and warnings about suspected fraudulent investment projects. The overview restates the regulator’s role rather than announcing new requirements. The framework includes checks on firms’ capital, ownership, management and professional qualifications before licensing, followed by regular reporting and supervision. It also covers disclosure by issuers and market professionals, oversight of nonstate pension funds and work on safeguards for housing construction investment, including a proposed construction guarantee fund and escrow-based financing. The commission is also aligning regulation with European and international standards. Its work includes updating the Corporate Governance Code in line with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development principles, preparing virtual asset regulation based on the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation and developing instruments such as covered bonds and securitization.
