The International Monetary Fund published the conclusion of its closed-door High-Level Pacific Islands Dialogue, held in Nadi, Fiji on March 12–13, 2026, convening regional policy-makers and development partners to discuss key challenges facing Pacific Island economies and the IMF’s support. The Fund indicated the conference takeaways will shape its further engagement with the region, including priorities for policy analysis and capacity development. High-level representatives from 14 Pacific Island countries participated alongside representatives from Pacific organizations, international financial institutions, and countries supporting the work of the IMF’s Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Centre (PFTAC). The agenda covered living standards, climate financing, payments systems, monetary policy, and fiscal policy as part of the IMF’s regional conference series aimed at enabling an exchange of views.
