The National Bank of Kazakhstan announced the release of “Great Victory. 80 Years” collectible coins under its “Memorable Events and Unique People” series, comprising a limited collector silver coin and a high-volume bicolor coin intended for everyday use. The issue includes a KZT 1,000 coin made of 925 gold-plated sterling silver (31.1g, 38.61mm) with multicolour printing in proof quality, with a mintage of 2,000 pieces, and a KZT 200 bicolor coin made of nibrass and nickel silver (7.5g, 26mm) in uncirculated quality, with a mintage of 10,000,000 pieces. The KZT 200 bicolor coins will circulate freely alongside existing coins in Kazakhstan, while the National Bank also noted that collectible coins must be accepted across Kazakhstan for all types of payments at face value and can be accounted for, transferred, exchanged and deposited with banks.
