The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City released its July Services Survey, which showed Tenth District services activity increased moderately in July and expectations for future activity remained elevated. Nearly half of firms expected demand to be higher for the rest of the year. Most firms reported lower profit margins since the start of the year, but they still expected revenue growth to remain strong. The monthly survey tracks indicators including sales, revenue, employment, capital spending, input prices and selling prices across a broad range of service industries in the Tenth District. The release also notes that the July survey incorporates new seasonal adjustment factors using Census X-13 ARIMA-SEATS, which means historical indexes differ slightly from previously released figures, and that these factors will be used throughout 2025.
