The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority has republished the directive standardizing the format of rules for registered retirement funds, beneficiary funds and friendly societies. The directive took effect when it was published in the Government Gazette on Aug. 20, 2026, and applies to the entities as well as their boards, principal officers and administrators. Rules should use plain language and support transparency, risk management, good governance, responsible business conduct and legal compliance. The prescribed templates cover core provisions including membership, contributions, benefits, governance, appointments, complaints, dissolution and business transfers, while requiring compliance with applicable formatting, signing and certification standards.
