The European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) Sustainability Reporting Board has extended the public consultation on its Exposure Drafts for the revision and simplification of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The consultation is now expected to run for 60 days from the end of July to the end of September 2025. The change follows a letter from EU Commissioner Albuquerque, received on 1 July 2025, which moved the deadline for EFRAG to deliver its technical advice on the ESRS revision and simplification to the European Commission from 31 October to 30 November. The consultation had previously been planned to last 30 to 45 days, and EFRAG also pointed to stakeholder dialogue carried out in April and May 2025 as part of its evidence gathering. EFRAG plans outreach events at the end of September and beginning of October, ahead of submitting its technical advice by 30 November.
