The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), together with the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), took part in the opening of the EGX trading session as part of World Investor Week 2025, using the event to emphasise investor protection through financial education, transparency and informed decision-making. The FRA also linked this agenda to its approach to “regulated innovation”, pointing to its existing framework for financial technology. The FRA highlighted investor-awareness tools including the iInvest digital platform for education on non-banking financial activities, the “FRA Podcast – Know to Benefit”, and ongoing social media campaigns encouraging investors to verify that entities are licensed before investing. On fintech, it referenced Law No. 5 of 2022 and related executive decisions, including decisions No. 139, 140, 141 and 268 of 2023 and No. 57 of 2024 on robo-advisory. EGX leadership outlined parallel education initiatives, including training programmes with universities and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the “Stock Exchange Pavilion in Universities” in seven universities reaching around 4,500 students, and an “EGX Ambassadors” programme with 90 youth ambassadors, alongside digital content that it said reached more than 4.5 million users. Looking ahead, the EGX vice chairman announced a new professional podcast of around 50 episodes, the start of work on educational content for pre-university students in cooperation with relevant bodies, and a forthcoming promotional event on the benefits of listing that is expected to involve around 150 executives from companies targeted for listing and other stakeholders in the listing and offering process.
