The Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) issued six infringement notices totalling AUD 118,800 to trustees of three superannuation funds over alleged false or misleading representations about investment options. Australian Retirement Trust Pty Ltd (ART), Tetra Servicing Pty Ltd, formerly Telstra Super Pty Ltd, and Australian Meat Industry Superannuation Pty Ltd (AMIST) each received two notices totalling AUD 39,600 following a targeted review of website disclosures. ASIC alleged that AMIST incorrectly represented its Alternatives Option as entirely invested in private equity when international shares accounted for 41.12% of assets at the end of August 2025. ART described its Unlisted Assets option as fully invested in unlisted assets and alternatives despite about 5% being held in listed property or equities. Telstra Super published an incorrect performance horizon and strategic asset mix for its Property Option, although the linked investment guide contained the correct information. ART and Telstra Super have paid their notices, while AMIST has agreed to pay by Sept. 2, 2027. Payment does not constitute an admission of guilt or liability. ASIC expects trustees to review disclosures regularly to ensure they remain current, accurate and consistent with how investment options are managed.
