The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission issued a package of policy measures aimed at strengthening banking and insurance support for Fujian’s role in building a cross-Strait integrated development demonstration zone, in line with central government guidance on promoting integrated development across the Taiwan Strait. The measures set out 16 actions in four areas: advancing cross-Strait integration in the banking and insurance sectors and deepening Fujian–Taiwan financial business cooperation; improving the quality and effectiveness of financial services to support cross-Strait economic and trade ties and personnel exchanges; enhancing the financial services experience for Taiwan compatriots and making it easier for them to live in Fujian; and strengthening financial supervision to prevent and mitigate financial risks. The regulator indicated it will next focus on driving implementation of the measures and further increasing banking and insurance support for cross-Strait integrated development and the demonstration zone’s construction.
