The Indonesia Financial Services Authority outlined how financial digitalization and real-world asset tokenization could widen financing access for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises across eastern Indonesia. Potential applications include tokenizing rice warehouse receipts, cocoa production and commodity purchase contracts to finance regional supply chains involving producers, processors, distributors and exporters, as well as supporting regional infrastructure financing. The authority said several providers have graduated from its Regulatory Sandbox with business models covering tokenized gold, government bonds and property ownership benefits, as well as a rupiah stablecoin and custody of non-traded digital financial assets. It is also using its Regional Financial Ecosystem Development Program to align financial-sector support with regional priorities, including downstream processing, the creative economy, financial inclusion and business capacity building.
