The Palestine Monetary Authority (PMA) reported that its Governor, Yahya Shunnar, participated in the 48th session of the Arab Monetary Fund Governors' Council in Kuwait as part of the joint annual meetings of Arab financial institutions, and held a series of bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening financial and banking cooperation. The Palestinian delegation also presented ongoing work on digital transformation in services and payments. Alongside the PMA Governor, the delegation included Finance Minister Omar Al-Bitar, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Arab Funds Dr. Nasser Qatami and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Kuwait Rami Tahboub. Meetings covered cooperation with Kuwait and Algeria, engagement with the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development on support for small and medium-sized enterprises and possible contributions to PMA-managed financing programmes, discussions with the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development on mechanisms to support development projects in Palestine, and talks with the World Bank Group’s Executive Director on financial and technical support for development projects and broader partnerships with international financial institutions.
