De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) has announced that Olaf Sleijpen will become its next President from 1 July 2025, succeeding Klaas Knot, who has held the role since 2011. Following a recommendation by DNB’s Supervisory Board, the Netherlands’ Minister of Finance, Eelco Heinen, has nominated Sleijpen for appointment by Royal Decree. Sleijpen has been a member of DNB’s Executive Board since 1 February 2020, responsible for the Monetary Affairs portfolio covering economic policy and research, financial stability, financial markets, payments and market infrastructures, and statistics. DNB said that Sleijpen’s move to the presidency will leave the Executive Board Member for Monetary Affairs position vacant from 1 July 2025. DNB’s Supervisory Board will consider a successor for the Monetary Affairs role in the period ahead.
