The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) announced it will host OSC Dialogue 2026: Competitive edge, a full-day event on 21 April 2026 at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, bringing together policy and regulatory experts to discuss how Canada’s capital markets can remain resilient, competitive, and adaptive. The programme includes remarks from David Paterson, Ontario’s Representative in Washington, DC, and a keynote from Rodrigo Buenaventura, Secretary General of the International Organization of Securities Commissions. Sessions also cover Canada’s regulatory approach to digital assets in comparison with the US and other jurisdictions, strategies to support capital formation and global competitiveness, the impact of digitally enabled “next-gen” investors on market structure, and cross-border approaches to financial crime risks including money laundering, market manipulation and emerging digital threats. Public registration is sold out and the OSC is operating a waitlist; accredited media attendance requires registration.
