The Japan Financial Services Agency, together with the UK Treasury, the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority, published a joint statement following the fourth meeting of the Japan-UK Financial Regulation Forum in Tokyo, continuing bilateral exchanges on financial regulation under the financial regulatory cooperation annex to the Japan-UK Economic Partnership Agreement. Discussions covered digital finance, sustainable finance, asset management, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, international banking regulations and non-bank financial intermediation, as well as women’s empowerment in the financial sector. The release also pointed readers to Annex 8-A on Financial Regulatory Cooperation and provided both an original joint statement and a provisional English translation.
