The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings’ Effective Governance and Macroeconomic Indicators working group held a videoconference meeting to review third-quarter implementation of its approved 2025 activity plan and to begin discussing the 2026 plan. The session brought together representatives from the Central Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the State Oil Fund, the State Statistical Committee, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, and public organisations. Updates covered areas including budget transparency, debt sustainability, the burden of government regulation, monetary freedom, the Global Innovation Index and the effective management of natural resources, with the group noting that relevant bodies had publicised plan-related work on their official websites and social media. The working group chair, Azer Alasgarov, Director of the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Department, said work should continue on delivering the 2025 plan and that the 2026 activity plan should be prepared taking account of the results achieved during 2025.
