The Bank of England appointed Sarah John, its current Chief Cashier, as Chief Operating Officer, with incumbent COO Ben Stimson set to depart the Bank. The Chief Cashier role will be filled by Victoria Cleland, the Bank’s Executive Director for Payments. Cleland will combine the Chief Cashier post with her existing Executive Director responsibilities, including work on the future of payments domestically and internationally, and she previously served as Chief Cashier from 2014 to 2018. Stimson has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Southern Coop.

The Bank of England appointed Sarah John as Chief Operating Officer, succeeding Ben Stimson, who will become CEO of Southern Coop. Victoria Cleland will assume the Chief Cashier role while continuing as Executive Director for Payments, a position she previously held from 2014 to 2018.
