The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Ministry of Justice and the Notary Chamber to coordinate implementation of a new procedure under which sales of property and motor vehicles will be carried out in non-cash form through notarisation from 1 April 2026. The procedure stems from Presidential Decree No. PF–246 on promoting cashless payments and reducing the share of the shadow economy. Discussions covered how to communicate the new process to the public, practical proposals from participants for implementation, and mechanisms to ensure consistent execution, with a focus on building the necessary infrastructure in cooperation with commercial banks. The new procedure is scheduled to be introduced from 1 April 2026.
