Ukraine’s National Commission on Securities and Stock Market reported on discussions with the European Union Delegation to Ukraine on aligning capital markets legislation with EU standards and supporting reforms through technical assistance. The October 19 meeting focused on Ukraine’s accession commitments under Chapter 6, Company Law, and Chapter 9, Financial Services. The Commission reviewed ongoing legislative work on corporate governance and shareholder rights, investment funds and capital market infrastructure. Discussions also covered developing investment instruments, strengthening investor protection and financial services regulation, and adopting European approaches to sustainable finance. The parties addressed preparations to launch a new EU technical assistance project on corporate law, alongside continued support for capital market reforms. This work shares the accession preparation focus of the Commission’s September agreement with the European Securities and Markets Authority on practical cooperation over EU regulation and supervisory practices. The current meeting concluded with agreement to coordinate joint initiatives and further steps toward fulfilling EU integration commitments.
