The Jordan Securities Commission, alongside the Amman Stock Exchange and the Securities Depository Center, hosted a scientific field visit for advanced research students from the College of Business at Al-Balqa Applied University to familiarise them with Jordan’s capital market institutions and recent legislative and regulatory developments aligned with international standards. The visit, organised within the framework of the parties’ shared strategy and activation of an existing memorandum of understanding, included awareness sessions on the Commission’s supervisory and regulatory role in investor protection and market transparency and efficiency. Students also received an overview of the Amman Stock Exchange’s activities, including a detailed walkthrough of the electronic trading system and trade execution, and a briefing from the Securities Depository Center on securities ownership recordkeeping, depository and transfer procedures, and clearing and settlement under the delivery versus payment principle.
