Securities Commission Malaysia and Bursa Malaysia launched the MY Value Up Programme Guidebook, a practical framework for public listed companies to prepare voluntary MY Value Up plans focused on medium to long term value creation and clearer forward-looking disclosures. The guidebook gives companies a common reference point for setting out growth strategies, targets, capital allocation priorities and investor engagement, under the MY Value Up initiative introduced in April as part of the Capital Market Masterplan 2026-2030. The guidebook includes examples of key plan components and suggested metrics, and sets baseline considerations for developing and publishing a MY Value Up plan. Implementation will follow two phases. In 2026, the focus is on familiarisation and alignment, with regulator engagement and submissions from targeted companies. In 2027, targeted companies are expected to begin publishing the plans publicly. Since the programme launched, the two bodies have engaged senior management from most of the largest 88 public listed companies, representing about 80% of Bursa Malaysia's total market capitalisation, with each company having a minimum market capitalisation of about RM4 billion. Workshops have also been held and regular dialogue with companies will continue.
