The Central Bank of Estonia said its Supervisory Board has confirmed former Governor Madis Müller as a member of the Estonian Fiscal Council. He fills the vacancy created when council member Ülo Kaasik stepped down after taking up the post of governor of the central bank. Müller served as governor of Eesti Pank from 2019 to 2026 and was deputy governor from 2011 before that. The Fiscal Council now consists of Chair Peter Lõhmus, Vice-Chair Viljar Arakas, and members Karin Jõeveer, Robert Kitt, Martti Randveer and Müller. At the same meeting, Governor Kaasik gave the board its regular review of the euro area economy, and Deputy Governor Martti Randveer presented the bank's latest economic forecast.
