The Central Bank of Paraguay and the Latin American Reserve Fund presented a sectoral study of direct investment in Paraguay from 2008 to 2024. It found that the country received approximately USD 10 billion in cumulative net direct investment inflows over the period. Nonfinancial services attracted the largest share, led by trade, telecommunications, transportation and real estate. Manufacturing investment became more diversified toward higher-value-added activities, while financial services recorded higher profitability and more concentrated flows. The primary sector remained a smaller recipient but recently expanded into nontraditional activities.
