The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic announced that 2025 issue DOP 100 banknotes will begin circulating on 2 June 2026. The release presents them as a new print year rather than a redesign, with the notes carrying the same security features as the DOP 100 banknotes already in circulation. Production of the notes was ordered through an international public tender in May 2025. The notice reiterates the existing authentication features, including the Juan Pablo Duarte watermark, a tactile mark for visually impaired users, a latent image, a security thread, microprinting and a colour shifting BCRD logo. Existing DOP 100 banknotes will remain legal tender for all public and private obligations.
