The Central Bank of Colombia announced that, from 26 January 2026, the service that exchanges banknotes of any denomination for COP 2,000 and COP 5,000 notes in Ibagué, Montería, Riohacha, Pasto and Quibdó will no longer be provided through the cash collection and payment firm Pagafácil and will instead be handled directly at the central bank’s public-service counters. The bank published the new service points for each city: Carrera 2 # 27-67 (Ibagué), Manzana A Lote 4 – Centro Logístico San Jerónimo (Montería), Carrera 5a # 14 A-23 (Riohacha), Carrera 31B # 20-59 Las Cuadras (Pasto), and Carrera 2 #26-58 Piso 1, Barrio Roma (Quibdó), alongside city-specific opening hours. It also reminded the public that the same services are available through the customer’s financial institution where their account is registered, and pointed to External Resolution 2 of 2024 for additional rules on the provision and exchange of banknotes and coins by credit institutions.

Central Bank of Colombia shifts COP 2,000 and COP 5,000 cash exchange service to direct counters in five cities from 26 January 2026
