The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched the country’s first national analytics platform for systematically monitoring women entrepreneurs’ access to finance. Developed with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the platform covers lending by banks and microfinance organizations to small, medium-sized and large businesses. The platform provides data on credit portfolio size, structure and quality, as well as sectoral, regional, demographic and organizational characteristics. Users can filter results by reporting date, type and size of business, and region. The agency also developed a methodology to identify women entrepreneurs, creating a consistent basis for assessing their participation in business lending. The agency will continue developing analytical tools aimed at equal access to financial resources and improving data quality.
