The Central Bank of Belize has concluded a series of public education sessions under its “Know Your Money” initiative to prepare stakeholders for the upcoming circulation of redesigned banknotes. The programme reached more than 700 participants and focused on building familiarity with the new notes and confidence in their use. Participants included representatives from commercial banks, credit unions, insurers, financial services providers, media, businesses, law enforcement agencies and government ministries. The sessions covered the banknotes’ design and cultural themes, key security features and authentication, design elements for the visually impaired, and proper handling of the new series; a recorded session is available on the central bank’s website. The outreach also included internal readiness sessions for central bank staff, and the bank acknowledged De La Rue’s contribution.
