The State Bank of Pakistan has advised all commercial bank branches to observe extended working hours until 10:00 P.M. on Wednesday, 31 December 2025 to facilitate over-the-counter payment of government duties and taxes. Banks were also advised to keep their concerned branches open on 31 December 2025 for as long as required to facilitate the Special Clearing for government transactions conducted by NIFT. In addition, banks were asked to ensure uninterrupted availability of online payment channels, including internet banking, mobile applications, ATMs and other digital platforms, to support online payment of government duties and taxes.
