At the International Forum on Learning Organizations in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, National Bank of Moldova Governor Anca Dragu outlined the central bank’s internal governance framework for responsible AI use. The framework sets requirements for human oversight and standards for data protection and confidentiality, based on the principle that AI should inform decisions rather than make them. Dragu said AI could improve efficiency, analysis and supervision across central bank functions, including monetary policy, financial sector oversight and anti-money laundering, but called for prudent integration into core operations. The central bank has also made an AI assistant available to all employees that provides documented answers based on legislation and internal procedures.
