Total compensation exceeded OMR 79.8 million (up 1.47%), comprising OMR 34.04 million for minor accidents (down 9.1%), OMR 18.88 million for serious accidents with material damage, over OMR 22.47 million for injury and medical expenses (up 26.67%), and OMR 4.45 million for fatalities (down 7.15%); the FSA noted the data cover only accidents where the responsible party had valid insurance, excluding events outside policy coverage such as driving under the influence, without a licence, or without valid insurance.
