The British Columbia Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) announced that four new members will join its board from June 30: Chris Elgar, Lisa Dorian, Tina Meadows and Lyle Viereck. The authority also thanked departing board members Dr. Stanley Hamilton, Wilma van Norden, Gerald Matier and Jo-Ann Hannah for their service. Elgar previously served as BCFSA’s senior vice president of supervision and brings more than 40 years’ experience across risk management, treasury and capital management, capital markets, banking, compliance, and recovery and resolution governance. Dorian is a corporate finance instructor at University Canada West, runs a business delivering financial and credit acumen workshops to commercial credit teams, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a Master of Studies in Law (corporate compliance). Meadows’ background includes labour relations, governance, financial oversight and board leadership, including as senior director of Bargaining and Services at UFCW Local 1518. Viereck leads a consulting company focused on strategic planning and negotiations, including for First Nations, with experience spanning public sector work, renewable energy, transportation and engagement with First Nation communities in British Columbia.

The British Columbia Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) announced the appointment of four new board members: Chris Elgar, Lisa Dorian, Tina Meadows, and Lyle Viereck, effective June 30.
