The Central Bank of Egypt reported that its Governor met Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to discuss cooperation between the banking sector and higher education and research institutions, with a focus on supporting the education ecosystem and sponsoring talented students and promising scientific and research candidates. The discussions covered the latest developments in the national “Future Scholars Fund” initiative launched in cooperation with the CBE to support socially eligible high-achieving students across governorates to complete university education. As part of the initiative, Account No. 7070 has been opened in Egyptian banks to receive contributions dedicated to supporting outstanding students, with the aim of broadening participation from banking institutions, the private sector and other segments of society. The CBE noted that the first phase of the cooperation has resulted in full scholarships for 1,953 students.
