The Hong Kong Insurance Authority hosted a panel session at the Belt and Road Summit on the changing risks facing Chinese Mainland enterprises expanding globally and Hong Kong’s potential role as an integrated risk adviser and manager. Participants examined how the city’s insurance market and professional services can support enterprises from risk assessment through tailored mitigation strategies. Clement Lau, the authority’s executive director of policy and legislation, said increasingly complex overseas operations require proactive, consolidated risk management. The discussion covered solutions for large enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises, drawing on Hong Kong’s expertise in insurance, maritime law and trade finance.
