The Brazil Securities Commission published its second-quarter 2026 Economic Bulletin, reporting BRL 420 billion in securities issuance in the first half, up 10.8% from the same period in 2025. Equity offerings reached BRL 25.5 billion, 64.5% above the total recorded for all of 2025, and included Brazil’s first initial public offering since 2021. The estimated value of the regulated market rose 22.8% from the end of 2025 to BRL 52.33 trillion, or BRL 18.94 trillion excluding the notional value of derivatives. Investment funds accounted for BRL 11.83 trillion, up 14.3%, while the number of regulated participants increased 0.3% to 92,978. The bulletin’s risk map showed an increase in liquidity risk during the second quarter, mainly reflecting wider bid-ask spreads alongside reduced foreign investment flows into the equity market.
