The National Bank of Moldova, in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Moldova, has launched Person to Government (P2G) functionality within the MIA Instant Payments system, enabling citizens to pay government-related charges instantly, securely and without fees directly from mobile banking. The P2G service is integrated into the EVO application and the MPay platform and covers more than 120 public services, including education fees, road-use charges, health contributions, contravention fines, criminal record fees and tax payments. Payments can be initiated by selecting the payment note and choosing MIA as the payment method, avoiding manual entry of payment details. The announcement also highlighted one year of Person to Business (P2B) payments in MIA, reporting more than 3,000 active companies using the service across over 7,000 acceptance points, and noted that since MIA’s launch in March 2024 the platform has processed over 9 million transactions by individuals with a total value exceeding MDL 8 billion.

Since its March 2024 launch, MIA has processed over 9 million transactions, totaling more than MDL 8 billion.
