The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported that Chair Madina Abylkassymova held talks with Korea’s Financial Services Commission and financial sector representatives during the Kazakh president’s state visit. The discussions continued bilateral engagement on financial regulation and capital market development, with potential cooperation covering project financing, digital finance, artificial intelligence, tokenization, insurance and digital infrastructure. Abylkassymova also met BNK Busan Bank executives to discuss expanding financial sector ties and supporting trade and investment between the two countries. BNK Financial Group opened BNK Commercial Bank in Kazakhstan in 2025, and the subsidiary has assets of KZT 25.7 billion.

Kazakhstan’s Financial Market Agency held further talks with Korea’s Financial Services Commission and financial institutions on regulation, capital markets, project financing, digital finance and AI. Chair Madina Abylkassymova also discussed expanded cooperation with BNK Busan Bank, whose Kazakh subsidiary has KZT 25.7 billion in assets.
