The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission’s Lipa Extension Office signed a memorandum of agreement with National University Lipa Campus to promote financial literacy and improve awareness of the company registration process among students and budding entrepreneurs. The agreement, signed on March 12, formally welcomed NU Lipa into the SEC Capital Market Promotion and Awareness Inter-Agency Network under the Commission’s SEC Communication, Advocacy, Network (SEC CAN!) investor education program. The collaboration covers the joint development, production, and promotion of materials on investing fundamentals, financial literacy, investor protection, and investment scams, to be disseminated through programs, trainings, and seminars to be developed by the parties. The SEC Lipa Extension Office described the planned activities as including financial literacy seminars, business registration workshops, and interactive learning sessions; NU Lipa is its first partner since the office opened in December 2024. The SEC reported 236 partnerships formed under the SEC Campaign Network since 2020, including 198 through its extension offices.
