The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been admitted as a full member of the Network for Greening the Financial System. The move brings the central bank into the network’s working groups and collective research on climate scenario analysis, green finance, climate stress testing, and the integration of sustainability factors into monetary policy and prudential supervision frameworks. The central bank linked the membership to the implementation of its Sustainable Finance Roadmap and said it will support further work on applying a green taxonomy, developing a green bond market, and introducing climate risk disclosures in the financial sector. It also described the step as aligned with Azerbaijan’s national commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement and its policy direction toward a greener and more sustainable economy.
