Argentina Securities Commission (CNV) President Roberto E. Silva discussed capital markets regulation, international investment flows and digital asset oversight at the New York State Bar Association’s Global Conference in Buenos Aires, held Oct. 21-23. His participation in three panels focused on how differing regulatory frameworks affect market participants and transactions across borders, alongside the implications of geopolitical and monetary policy changes for investment in Latin America. The digital asset discussion compared regulatory approaches in Argentina, Brazil, the United States and the European Union. It addressed compliance across jurisdictions, anti-money laundering controls and customer identification, as well as stablecoins and decentralized finance protocols. Silva also reiterated Argentina’s focus on regulatory modernization, international market integration and investor protection. That emphasis is consistent with the CNV’s earlier presentation of its rules for virtual asset service providers and tokenization, although the current remarks did not announce additional measures.
