The International Social Security Association (ISSA) awarded the Dominican Republic's Pensions Superintendency (SIPEN) Certificates of Merit at the Regional Social Security Forum for the Americas in São Paulo, Brazil, including Special Mention recognition for three initiatives. The Special Mention certificates covered “Aquí sabemos de pensiones”, a seal recognising companies that promote pension education, the “Interactive map of pension funds”, which shows projects financed by retirement savings investments, and “Chatbot RITA”, a 24/7 generative AI instant-response service via WhatsApp. Six additional Certificates of Merit recognised initiatives to automate offsite supervision of disability pensions, enable online consultation of deceased affiliates, deliver a communications strategy (“Conoce tu futuro”), support SIPEN-JCE interoperability, provide virtual appointment booking (“SIPEN te escucha”), and implement the “SIPEN Data Warehouse” project to strengthen data collection, processing and analysis for more effective data governance. The certificates were received by SIPEN’s Administrative and Financial Director and Director of Studies on behalf of Superintendent Francisco A. Torres, in a year when the ISSA Americas good practices awards attracted 187 candidacies from 37 social security institutions across 19 countries.
