The Central Bank of Mongolia has launched Climate-Related Financial Disclosure Guidelines for Mongolian financial institutions, setting out a framework to assess and disclose climate-related risks and opportunities and to strengthen transparency in climate risk reporting. Developed under the “Readiness Support for Greening the Central bank” project funded by the NDC Partnership and in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and the Mongolian Sustainable Finance Association, the guidelines are tailored to the local context and aligned with International Financial Reporting Standards S1 and S2. An accompanying reporting template was presented, and implementation is intended to be voluntary using a “learning-by-doing” approach to build data quality and reporting capacity over time.
