The Turks & Caicos Financial Services Commission published an update on its participation in the Group of International Insurance Centre Supervisors Annual Seminar and Annual General Meeting in London, where its acting managing director engaged with peer regulators on regulatory developments, supervisory priorities and emerging risks in the global insurance sector. The Commission said the discussions will inform its ongoing work to modernise its regulatory framework, advance risk-based supervision and strengthen resilience across the islands’ insurance sector. The seminar focused on risk-based supervision, recovery and resolution planning, operational resilience, consumer protection, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in financial services. Delegates also discussed implementation of international standards, supervisory effectiveness, operational continuity and crisis preparedness, with emphasis on demonstrating supervisory outcomes, using agile risk-based frameworks and strengthening cross-border cooperation. At the annual general meeting, members reviewed GIICS’ work over the previous year, discussed governance and strategic priorities, and considered future training and capacity-building initiatives, including continued liaison with the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
