The Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) held its 2025 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony in Butuan City, recognizing nine institutional partners of the BSP Mindanao Regional Office. The ceremony was led by Monetary Board Member Jose L. Querubin and BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, who linked the awards to efforts to extend financial services to more communities. Running since 2004, the Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony is used to recognize partners supporting the BSP’s mandates on price stability, financial stability, and a safe and efficient payments and settlements system. The Mindanao awardees were cited for contributions aligned with BSP advocacies including financial inclusion, financial education, currency management, digital payments, and gold buying, and included Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Cash Management Services Unit, Ozamiz Branch), Land Bank of the Philippines (Northern Mindanao Branches Group, General Santos Pioneer Branch, and Davao-Recto Branch), Development Bank of the Philippines (Cagayan de Oro Cash Center), the Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Davao de Oro, the Philippine Science High School (Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus), and the Butuan City Bankers Club. The Mindanao ceremony followed appreciation events for BSP Head Office and South Luzon partners held on 18 July and 08 August 2025, respectively. Similar ceremonies are planned for partners of BSP offices in North Luzon and Visayas.
