The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission presented 60 Prime Minister’s Insurance Awards across 10 categories and highlighted an industry objective to raise direct written premiums to THB 1 trillion for the first time in 2026. The awards covered insurers, brokers, agents and loss adjusters, as well as achievements in technology, sustainability and access to insurance. Muang Thai Life Assurance ranked first among life insurers for management, Muang Thai Insurance led the nonlife category, and Dhipaya Insurance received the nonlife management Hall of Fame award. At the ceremony, Office of Insurance Commission Secretary-General Chuchat Pramoolpol emphasized continued work to raise standards, develop innovation and broaden coverage. Finance Ministry Permanent Secretary Lavaron Sangsnit identified electronic know-your-customer checks, electronic policies and electronic claims as priorities for overcoming access and service barriers. He also outlined scope for insurers to assume more public-sector risk, including health care costs, provided that linked and comprehensive treatment data are available to support underwriting.
