The Central Bank of Taiwan reported that net trading volume in the Taipei foreign exchange market totaled USD 1.046 trillion in July 2026 after eliminating double counting from interbank transactions. Average daily turnover was USD 47.5 billion. Interbank transactions accounted for 73% of turnover, including 47.4% with foreign banks, while bank-customer transactions represented 27%. Foreign exchange swaps were the largest instrument at USD 557.3 billion, or 53.3% of turnover, followed by spot transactions at USD 410.8 billion, or 39.3%. Banks also recorded USD 16.3 billion in interest rate swaps and USD 3.9 billion in interest rate options.
