The Capital Markets Board of Türkiye has established dedicated accounts for people who voluntarily want to return excessive gains earned from sales of units in investment funds before those funds were ordered into liquidation. The measure creates a repayment channel within the liquidation process, which covers 131 funds held by 455,758 investors. A separate account has been opened for each affected fund at United Fund Bank in the name of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund. Repayments may enter only the relevant fund’s liquidation estate, cannot be transferred to another fund or account, and will be passed to Ziraat Bank and Türkiye İş Bankası for distributions to that fund’s unit holders. A General Share Repayment Account has also been opened for voluntary returns of excessive profits from trading shares in listed companies and similar transactions.
