Securities Commission Malaysia has brought its nationwide capital market financing roadshow to Sabah, presenting micro, small and medium enterprises and mid-tier companies with funding options spanning early-stage finance to public listings. The event follows the roadshow’s launch in Penang in August 2026 and supports the regulator’s five-year roadmap to broaden access to market-based financing, particularly for businesses seeking to expand in Sabah’s agriculture, tourism and manufacturing sectors. The commission also plans to establish a strategic co-investment fund with the Ministry of Economy in 2027 to support high-growth, high-value sectors under the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan. Existing public-private schemes have demonstrated the model’s reach: the Malaysia Co-Investment Fund has catalyzed MYR 7.7 billion for more than 11,500 MSMEs since 2019, while the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 Strategic Co-Investment Fund has facilitated more than MYR 243 million in fundraising since its launch. The next roadshow is scheduled for Selangor by the end of 2026.
