New Brunswick Financial & Consumer Services Commission’s Director of Consumer Affairs has approved a mandatory 2026 New Brunswick Continuing Education Course for all mortgage brokers and associates licensed under the Mortgage Brokers Act. The online course will be available from 21 January 2026 and is intended to cover key legislative requirements in the Act and Rules, including obligations unique to New Brunswick. Licensees holding a licence issued before 21 January 2026 must complete the course by 31 March 2026; failure to provide a certificate of completion before 1 April 2026 will trigger automatic licence suspension under paragraph 18(3)(d) of the Act until the certificate is received. Applicants licensed on or after 21 January 2026 must complete the course within three months of their licence issuance date, with the same automatic suspension consequence for failing to report completion.
