The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that Governor Ahmet Ismaili met the Czech Republic’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Bohumil Mazánek, to discuss recent developments and reforms in Kosovo’s financial sector, including progress in the legal and regulatory framework and the sector’s performance. The meeting covered the Central Bank’s organisation, mandate and scope as an independent constitutional institution, as well as its cooperation with international financial institutions and regional and European Union central banks and supervisory authorities. Ismaili also outlined Kosovo’s pre-application process for joining the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) with the European Commission and the central bank’s project to advance and modernise the payments system. Both sides agreed to consider opportunities for cooperation between their institutions in areas of public interest.
