The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario issued an order refusing to grant a service provider’s licence to Yan Jiang under Ontario’s Insurance Act. The regulator determined that Jiang is not suitable to hold a licence because she repeatedly provided false information in her application and has a history of non-compliance with regulatory filing requirements. FSRA concluded that her past conduct provides reasonable grounds to believe she would not conduct business in accordance with the law and with integrity and honesty, constituting grounds to refuse the licence. Jiang did not request a hearing before the Financial Services Tribunal and did not contest FSRA’s proposal.
